Swim Meet Race #1
Swam the 1650y tonight at the big Fort Collins Holiday Meet. I was in Heat 2 with Dan on our team and 2 kids about half my age. I swam a 19:48 PB (exactly 1:12 pace). Much faster than the 21:30 I swam last winter. I went our a bit easy for the first couple hundred then got rolling. Just under 6:00 the first 500y then just over for following two 500's. I'm happy with it, great to take off so much time from last year. It'll be nice to get about two more 1650's over the winter to bring the time down a bit more.
Tomorrow is the 500y.

Wow! Great job. That is such a huge improvement over last year. Your swimming is really starting to rock the house!

Did you beat the middle schoolers?! Don't leave us hanging. If so, I hope you got in their faces and shouted and flexed.

One middle schooler did beat me. The other one in the lane next to me took it out hard and then I rolled him at 200y and he was finished from there. I was quite proud of myself. Surely I would have beat the other one if he was within sight and it was mano y mano. He probably would have gotten psyched out and quit halfway through.
